Annual Race to Erase MS Fundraiser

Annual Race to Erase MS Fundraiser

Nancy Davis’ 21st Annual Race to Erase MS Fundraiser
Race to Erase MSIt was our honor to attend Nancy Davis’ annual dinner and auction to help raise money to find a cure for MS on May 2nd at the Century Plaza Hotel. We joined nearly 2000 other people who were there to support Nancy’s two decade long crusade to help find a cure for this terrible disease that afflicts so many people. Motykie Med Spa was part of the lavish silent auction items – from jewelry to hotel stays around the world – that filled an entire ballroom. It was thrilling to hear that the hard work is paying off. When the charity started there were No drugs to treat MS. With the help of The Race’s “Center without Walls” there are now nine!
We’re so happy to have been a part of such a worthy cause. Aside from meeting many lovely new friends, we also had the pleasure of listening to live performances by CeeLo Green, Natalie Cole and Steven Tyler!!!

CoolSculpting Rocks! – West Hollywood, CA

A RealSelf.com Coolsculpting Patient Review

coolsculpting before and after photos“I had my first treatment of “Cool Sculpting” today! Yes! I am so excited! Until very recently I hadn’t heard of a way that I could have effectively and permanently reduced the amount of that super hard to lose fat around my lower abdomen without having to go through and invasive and costly procedure like Liposuction, to be honest I have this little bit of fat left over from my weight loss that I just couldn’t get rid of. I would catch a side view of my profile and eek! you know that bump that just peeks out causing me to look like I stuffed a small pillow down the front of my pants, you know the look I mean…! It is not pretty people! I have lived this way for very long time, with my weight going up and down and my war with weight loss raging on, I finally had the opportunity to try a (what I now have come to love) new procedure called “Cool Sculpting” a non-Invasive procedure that can be used anywhere on your body to help reduce your body fat in areas that are hard or in my case nearly impossible to lose, genius right?, for me that area was my lower abdominal area or the “Puffy Pillow Zone! as I like to call it.” Cool Sculpting literally feels like someone is pinching your flabby bits kinda hard! I experienced a minimal amount of tingling during the first few minutes of the procedure but after about 10 minutes the area being treated goes numb and you only feel pressure I was able to lie back use my cell phone watch a movie and close my eyes and relax, I ended up taking selfies with the staff and hamming it up a bit. Trisha my nurse, made me feel very comfortable, her engaging attitude and knowledge of the procedure itself put any questions I had to rest. I was very impressed with the services overall, my treatment lasted for an hour and I was back up dressed and back to my day, I am feeling great, I am little tender in the area I had treated, I am sitting up and walking around there is no pain no discomfort, You should drink a lot of water after and during the procedure a little hydration is always good. My experience at Motykie Medspa was great! The facility is gorgeous, the medical and spa staff were amazing , this procedure is amazing! I would highly recommend this to anyone considering an alternative to Liposuction for sure!”

If it wasn’t the weekend I am sure Id go to work after my treatment without hesitation! Crazy!!”

Botox Treats Depression

cosmetic surgery 42Botox, produced with botulinum toxin, is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments to reduce unwanted wrinkles and fine lines from certain areas of the face. Motykie Medical Spa is one of the leading providers of Botox treatment for patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby areas.
The med spa is led by board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Gary Motykie, and provides state of the art facilities for non-invasive and minimally invasive anti-aging and other aesthetic procedures. Botox is recommended to suitable candidates who are bothered by the visible signs of aging on their face, but are keen to avoid surgical solutions.

A Unique Benefit of Botox

In addition to its aesthetic benefits, Botox is also used for certain medical purposes such as reduction of excessive sweating, managing chronic migraines and controlling involuntary twitching of eyelids. Motykie Medical Spa is committed to keeping its patients well-informed about the latest innovations and advancements with regard to Botox usage. Dr. Motykie believes in educating his patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and other locations so that they are in a position to make the most appropriate choices to meet their aesthetic goals.
In this endeavor to keep his patients abreast with the latest developments in the field, Dr. Motykie points out one of the newest revelations about Botox. A recently published research book, which has been lauded by the New York Times as the “first authorized biography” of Botox, has suggested that Botox could be an effective cure for depression, in addition to its usual aesthetic benefits.
The book called “In the Face of Emotion” states that a procedure such as Botox, which is performed by a certified med spa Botox provider, can result in improving the mental make-up of the patient and reinvigorate their relationships with others. While most people are aware about the unique anti-aging benefits of Botox, but this new discovery that Botox can also make the patient get rid of any signs of depression, is new information that potential patients should know.

Connection between Emotions and Muscles

Experienced Botox providers are usually aware that Botox treatments can help their patient become more cheerful than before. However, now scientists are providing a solid scientific basis to this belief, and are linking the effect to reduction of facial wrinkles and fine lines. For instance, frown muscles on the forehead typically cause wrinkles and aging lines in the area.
These lines are also called expression lines, which may typically express negative emotions such as anger, frustration, sadness, or anxiety. With the application of Botox in the targeted areas of the forehead, the physical formation of the expressions required to show the negative emotions is prevented. The muscles that were causing the frown become temporary paralyzed due to Botox injections. This effectively helps mitigate negative emotions because they expression is physically denied.

Darwin’s Theory

Charles Darwin suggested in a theory way back in 17th century that facial muscles not only cause expression of emotions, but they also have a role to play in how an individual perceives and experiences those emotions. Darwin said that if the illustration of such feelings is curbed, the natural response to such feelings will also be reduced.

Healthy patients make the best patients!

Candidates Cosmetic Medical Spa Procedures Los Angeles | Beverly HillsDr. Gary Motykie, a Beverly Hills-based, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon emphasizes the importance of health to his patients when determining whether or not they will be a good candidate for surgery.  Prior to becoming a surgeon, Dr Motykie was a fitness expert, personal trainer and avid body builder.
While he realizes that nobody is perfect, he does his best to encourage his patients and everyone to do their best to practice living a well-balanced life.

Willing to turn away a patient that isn’t a good candidate for surgery

Whether an individual’s health is currently compromised or they are not willing to make necessary long-term lifestyle changes, don’t be shocked to learn that he will often turn people away for surgery.
Dr. Motykie is willing to say no to surgery and offers advice to such candidates in hopes that they will begin to make better health and fitness choices.  He is wise enough to know that a healthy patient makes a better patient because they will heal faster and their results will be most optimal.

How do you know if you are a good candidate for plastic surgery?

Dr. Motykie has spent the past 10 years dedicated to designing an integrative approach to health, wellness, nutrition and surgery in the hopes of taking plastic surgery to the next level of evolution in the beauty and anti-aging industry.  He can’t stress enough that “everyone has something to detox from” whether it be environmental factors, food allergies, medications or lifestyle choices.  The before and after slide of the patient’s recent eye surgery reinforces this theory.  This particular patient had recently discovered that she had a severe Gluten allergy so happened to be detoxing for over a month by not only an elimination diet, to starve her system of sugar, but also totally avoided caffeine and alcohol.  As the photos prove, healing occurs quickly when you are at the hands of a gifted surgeon and your body is performing optimally.

What is the cost of Botox?

Build My Bod | Get a Quote Now!

Motykie Medical Spa is a premier provider of state of the art non-surgical aesthetic treatments, including Botox. During the initial consultation, the Botox experts at the medspa will also provide a fair cost estimate of the treatment. The facility receives patients from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding areas.

Cost Comparison with Surgery

A number of patients are deterred by the relatively higher costs of plastic surgery procedures, even if they may desire to improve their facial aesthetics. Botox can be a highly affordable and simpler alternative for such patients who are keen to reduce their facial signs of aging without surgery. A plastic surgery will usually involve the costs of anesthesia, operating room costs, surgeon’s fee and other related expenses such as medical tests, prescription drugs, and surgical accessories. All these costs are avoided in case of a Botox treatment.
Motykie Medical Spa provides Botox injections to suitable candidates in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby locations. The treatment does not involve multiple consultations or several treatment sessions. With no downtime involved, the recovery costs in terms of staying away from work are also avoided. Botox treatment can be performed in less than 30 minutes. A reputed medspa facility, which is a certified Botox provider, can provide this treatment in a safe and efficient manner.

Cost Variations

The location, services, and reputation of a medical spa facility in providing Botox injections are some of the key factors that may determine the cost of treatment. The treatment cost of Botox will be usually priced in two ways: Pricing by the location of treatable area or pricing by the number of units or vials used.
It is important to choose a reliable Botox provider, considering the fact that the treatment is based on botulinum toxin. This toxin is a powerful biological agent, which must be used in a precise manner and in controlled quantities.

Botox Treatments

botox before and after pictureA wide variety of non-invasive and minimally invasive anti-aging treatments are available today, ranging from injectable fillers to ultrasonic therapies. However, the facial aesthetic treatment that has continued to dominate worldwide is Botox. Produced from botulinum toxin, which is probably the most potent biological agent known to science, Botox is highly effective in reducing wrinkles and fine lines on the face for a temporary period of up to six months.
The treatment was approved by the FDA in 2002 for specific facial areas to reduce the signs of aging. It has continued to grow in popularity ever since. Motykie Medical Spa is a premier facility providing Botox injections to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding communities. The med spa is led by Dr. Gary Motykie, who is a board certified surgeon with extensive experience in the field.

How does it work?

Botulinum neurotoxin is administered in very minuscule, controlled quantities in a Botox dosage to reduce the signs of aging on the face. The medication is injected directly into the overactive muscle on the face that is causing a wrinkle on the skin surface. As soon as the medication comes in contact with the targeted muscle, it blocks the transmission of neural signals between the muscle and the nervous system.
This causes the muscle to become paralyzed for a temporary period. Once the muscle is relaxed, the wrinkle disappears or fades away naturally from the face. In 2002, after extensive trials, the FDA approved Botox for the cosmetic reduction of frown lines on the forehead.
Over the years, the treatment was also approved for various medical purposes. In 2013, the FDA granted approval to Botox for the cosmetic reduction of crow’s feet around the eyes. A med spa may also provide Botox treatment for lip augmentation and reduction of wrinkles in other parts of the face.

Key Advantages

Botox is considered one of the most ideal anti-aging solutions for people who are bothered by the conspicuous signs of aging on their face, but are reluctant to opt for facelift or other surgical treatments. Motykie Medical Spa recommends Botox treatment to suitable candidates in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and other locations.
Botox treatment will avoid all the potential risks and side effects that may be typically associated with a plastic surgery procedure. The treatment involves very little pain or discomfort, and can be performed in about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the treatable area involved. The treatment is significantly more affordable compared to any surgical or other aesthetic anti-aging treatments.
Working people and busy moms who find it difficult to choose surgical options because of shortage of time may opt for Botox treatment for quick and efficient results. The downtime involved with Botox treatment is negligible. A patient may, in fact, have the treatment done during the lunch hour, and go back to work immediately after the treatment session. Botox is manufactured by Allergan, Inc., which is a highly established and recognized producer of non-surgical aesthetic treatments in the United States.

A Look at the Growth Trends in Aesthetic Procedures in the US

Plastic Surgery Statistics Report 2012Motykie Medical Spa ranks among the top providers of some of the latest and proven aesthetic treatments in the non-surgical category. The medspa is led by Dr. Gary Motykie, who is an experienced plastic surgeon with a reputed practice. Dr. Motykie brings rich experience and expertise to his medical spa, which is a distinguishing feature of the facility. Patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding areas have an opportunity to receive treatment at the state of the art facility.

Growing Popularity of Cosmetic Treatments

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) released a comprehensive “Plastic Surgery Statistics Report” in 2012, which provides interesting data about the increasing nationwide acceptance of surgical as well as non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the United States. The growth is not limited just to a few selected invasive or non-invasive treatments, and the phenomenon appears to be consistent for a wide range of procedures across the board.
The figures provided by the ASPS are a testimony to the fact that patient satisfaction with regard to various surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures is on the rise. In fact, the figures reveal a significant increase in the number of repeat patients. Reputed medical spa facilities such as Motykie MedSpa are a part of this growth trend, and enjoy a consistently high patient satisfaction and patient loyalty towards the facility. See the average cost of cosmetic procedures and treatments.

Statistical Highlights

The ASPS report shows that a total of 14.6 million cosmetic procedures were performed in the U.S. in 2012, which represented a five percent increase over the previous year. The number of cosmetic minimally invasive procedures was as high as 13 million, which was an increase of six percent over the previous year.
The top five cosmetic surgical procedures in 2012 included breast augmentation, nose reshaping, eyelid surgery, liposuction, and a facelift. Breast augmentation continued to be the leading cosmetic surgery procedure, and has been at the top since 2006. 62 percent of the breast augmentation patients opted for silicone implants, compared to 38 percent for saline implants.
Among the minimally invasive aesthetic procedures, Botox outperformed other procedures significantly. 6.1 million Botox Type A treatments were performed in 2012, which marked an increase of eight percent over 2011. Dermal fillers came at the second spot with two million procedures, followed by chemical peel treatment, laser hair removal and microdermabrasion procedures in that order.
Among all the non-invasive and minimally invasive cosmetic treatments, facial rejuvenation procedures experienced the maximum growth in 2012. Interestingly enough, 91 percent of all cosmetic procedures were performed on women, while only nine percent were performed on men. Nearly half of all cosmetic procedures were performed on people in the age group of 40 to 54 years.

Growth in Repeat Patients

Perhaps the biggest reaffirmation for the aesthetic treatment providers came in the form of the faith reposed by existing patients of cosmetic surgical and non-surgical procedures. Business from repeat patients grew by seven percent in 2012 compared to 2011, which represents a significant jump in a single year. It demonstrates the high satisfaction levels of patients with aesthetic procedures across the board.
