Understanding Different Thread Lift Procedures: NovaThreads And Silhouette InstaLift

Thread Lift Procedures: NovaThreads And Silhouette | Beverly HillsThe face is the most noticeable area of the body, and signs of aging will be more apparent on the face. A facelift cosmetic surgery can restore a youthful-looking face.

However, many people do not want to undergo a major invasive procedure for various reasons. The NovaThreads and Silhouette InstaLift skin-tightening procedures offer an effective, non-surgical med spa solution for these people.

Motykie Medical Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie provides thread lift procedures to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding locations.

What are NovaThreads?

NovaThreads is an innovative rejuvenation treatment that involves hypodermic needles. These needles are preloaded with PDO absorbable sutures. PDO refers to a synthetic absorbable surgical suture comprising polydioxanone.

PDO is widely recognized in medical usage as it is one of the safest available materials to be introduced in the body. The skin fully absorbs the suture in around four to six months of the procedure. The NovaThreads treatment will not cause the development of any scar tissue, unlike facial cosmetic surgery.

How does it Work?

The NovaThreads facial rejuvenation procedure leverages the natural selective inflammatory response of the body. After the procedure is undertaken, it will encourage this response for the skin to heal itself naturally. After the provider has inserted NovaThreads into the impacted sites of the neck and face, the production of new collagen will occur in the deeper layers of the skin.

Fresh collagen will add fullness to the thinning facial areas, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, and create a rejuvenated facial appearance. The skin will continue to heal for around four to six months while the PDO suture is slowly absorbed. This controlled healing happens beneath the skin, developing more natural and sustainable results.

What is Silhouette InstaLift

Aging effects are usually more prominent in the neck and face region. Even if a person has maintained an optimal fitness level and a well-proportioned body, loose facial skin, deep neck creases and neck bands, a jowly appearance, and noticeable smile lines can make them look old.

Facelift cosmetic surgery is an effective and proven procedure to reverse the signs of facial aging. However, many people do not want to undergo this surgery for various reasons. The advanced non-surgical anti-aging med spa procedure known as Silhouette InstaLift may be ideal for such people.

This innovative, minimally invasive procedure can correct sagging skin in the neck and face to restore a tauter, smoother skin appearance in these sites.

Procedure

Silhouette InstaLift uses a re-absorbable suture and bidirectional cones to lift and stabilize the drooping mid-face and neck tissue. The improvement with this procedure happens in two phases. The patient will experience a certain amount of neck and face lift right after the procedure. In the next stage, the results will continually enhance over several months.

This occurs as the suture and cones encourage the production of new collagen fibers in the deeper tissue. Fresh collagen adds fullness to the depleted sites and helps create longer-lasting, more natural-looking, and smoother results over time.

PDO Thread Lift Non-Invasive Facelift Risks And Safety

PDO Thread Lift Non-Invasive Facelift Risks And Safety | Beverly HillsA PDO Thread Lift is a minimally invasive aesthetic med spa procedure. In this procedure, the treatment provider numbs and administers local anesthesia to the targeted area, and then inserts the PDO threads using blunt or sharp tip needles (known as cannulas) into different layers of the skin.

The threads anchor the skin once they are inserted and lift it upwards. After this, the excess threads are trimmed off. The procedure takes between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the treatment areas. The patient will experience some discomfort during the procedure. However, due to advanced techniques, patients are experiencing less and less pain.

Motykie Medical Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie provides PDO thread lift to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding locations.

Is PDO Thread Lift Safe? What are the Potential Side Effects?

The PDO thread lift is a surprisingly safe treatment. In comparison to fillers, the side effects are much milder. Fillers can even lead to blindness and skin death. PDO threads are placed using needles and not surgically, and are absorbed in six to eight months.

Therefore, many of the side effects related to older thread lifting procedures, such as thread breakage and infection, are minimized as well.

Bruising may or may not occur, depending on the types of threads used and areas addressed. The high definition lift causes minimal to no bruising.

The patient will experience some mild inflammation and soreness for three to five days after the procedure, as well as a sensation of tightness (mild) for up to two weeks. There may also be temporary mild dimpling of the skin, which will resolve by itself in a few days.

Many side effects are associated with the technique of insertion, and the types of threads used. These include side effects such as surface depressions and thread migration, as well as extrusion facial asymmetry, prolonged discomfort, and dimpling. All PDO threads are not identical. The expertise of the med spa treatment provider is critical to ensuring a good result with minimal side effects from the thread lift procedure.

Lastly, more severe side effects are rare but may occur. Some of these side effects are nerve damage, infection, development of nodules, and damage to the salivary ducts. The anatomical structure of the face is very complex. The doctor must have an in-depth knowledge of anatomy to undertake a PDO thread lift effectively and safely.

Most of these side effects are manageable. In cases of migration and extrusion, the removal of threads may be necessary.

How to Minimize Side Effects?

Similar to other treatments involving injections, the patient should avoid alcohol as well as supplements such as Omega Fish oils and Vitamin E before and after the procedure. They should also avoid using the steam room and sauna, and performing vigorous exercises such as High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).

The patient will also be discouraged from undergoing any oral treatment (which requires them to open their mouth excessively) for two weeks after the PDO Thread Lift. They are also advised to sleep on their backs to enable the inflammation to resolve and to avoid causing strain on the face that might lead to the misalignment of the threads.

Motykie Medical Spa receives patients from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby areas for PDO thread lift.
