Injectable Dermal Fillers Guide – Which One Do You Need?

Injectable Dermal Fillers Guide – Which One Do You Need?

Injectable Dermal Fillers

Most signs of aging that are visible on the face can be traced back to loss of volume in the skin. Lines tend to become etched as facial tissues thin out. This is common around the mouth, nose, and cheeks. Dermal fillers can help in replacing lost volume in the skin for smoothing wrinkles and plumping the lips. It helps in restoring a youthful appearance and smoothing wrinkles.

It can be difficult choosing the best option with so many dermal fillers available in the market. You would need an experienced plastic surgeon’s guidance. Each dermal filler product is uniquely created to have a certain injection depth and density. This means that certain dermal fillers tend to work better than the rest.

Motykie Med Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie, provides facial filler injectable treatments for facial wrinkle reduction to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding locations.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers

HA acid is naturally occurring in the body and is already present in the human skin. It helps keep the skin hydrated and plump. Hyaluronic acid fillers tend to be gel-like and soft. The results are usually temporary and don’t last longer than 6 – 12 months. The body gradually absorbs the particles. Discomfort is minimized in these dermal fillers with the presence of lidocaine.

Hyaluronic acid med spa fillers that are FDA approved include:

  • Juvederm:  Juvéderm XC, VOLUMA, VOLBELLA, VOLLURE
  • Restylane: Restylane Refyne, Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, and Restylane Defyne
  • Belotero Balance

Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) Fillers

Calcium hydroxylapatite is naturally present in the bones. The calcium particles in the dermal filler are microscopic in nature and suspended as a smooth gel. CaHa filler has a naturally thick consistency. It is thicker than hyaluronic acid and lasts for about 12 months. The dermal filler is used for wrinkles and deeper lines. Radiesse is an FDA approved CaHa filler.

Poly-L-lactic Acid Fillers

Poly-L-lactic acid is a biodegradable synthetic substance that is biocompatible in nature. These dermal fillers are classified as collagen stimulators. They work by rebuilding natural collagen in the skin as the main mechanism for smoothing fine lines. The filler gel in this dermal filler can help treat deeper facial wrinkles. Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA approved Poly-L-lactic acid filler.

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) Filler

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is a biocompatible synthetic substance that is being used in medicine for a major part of last century. PMMA in medical spa dermal fillers is in the form of a tiny ball or microsphere. This remains underneath the skin indefinitely for providing continued support. Collagen is present in PMMA fillers that helps the skin attain firmness and structure. Bellafill or Artefill is an FDA approved PMMA filler.

Autologous Fat Injections (Facial Fat Grafting)

Autologous fat injection is the only dermal filler treatment requiring surgery. However, the results can last for several years. Your fat will be harvested, purified and then injected in the face for restoring volume to the temples, cheeks, lower eyelid, and other facial areas.

Motykie Medical Spa receives patients from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby areas for soft tissue filler injection treatments for facial volumizing and anti-aging effects.

What Is Baby Botox (Microtox)? Prevent Future Lines in Your 20’s

Baby Botox (Microtox)

Baby Botox (babies are not involved) is thought to be the future of injectables. Baby Botox, in simple words, makes use of a lower cc volume of botulinum toxin injections (Botox). For instance, instead of using the standard 25 units, the injection provider may use just 10 units. People prefer Baby Botox because they don’t want to appear frozen, but are tired of wrinkles. Patients getting Botox for the first time are usually perfect for this treatment.

Baby Botox is mostly about the technique besides the product volume to be used. You can get lower doses when you are precise about the treatment area. Super targeted micro injections can be used for delivering tailored and a more natural look.

Motykie Med Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie, provides Baby Botox injectable treatments for facial wrinkle reduction to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding communities.

Baby Botox Minimizes Risk

Baby Botox lowers the complications associated with appearing frozen as compared to injections of standard size. For instance, in the forehead, there is a significant risk of weakening the frontalis muscle. This can cause the eyebrows to drop. This is less likely to occur if you are getting micro Botox doses.

Baby Botox med spa injections can be administered in any area of the face. However, it is best used for erasing fine lines and creating subtle changes. The treatment is useful for erasing fine lines and creating subtle changes in the targeted areas. These things are especially nice for areas, like the crow’s feet. This is a delicate area where the treatment needs to be subtle.

Customized Approach for Treatment

Baby Botox or Microtox medical spa treatment approach is highly customized. The goal of these injections is to offer personalized results. Botox is dedicated to rebalancing and restoring the face so that you can look your best. In some cases, a lower dose may not work. In such situations, the injection provider would request them to come back for a full dose.

Preventing Lines with Baby Botox

Baby Botox is subtle in nature which makes it perfect for people in their 20s to prevent lines in the first place. It is designed for patients that are towards the younger end of the Botox spectrum or those who want to prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

The idea here is to prevent wrinkle formation by using Botox for manipulating the way wrinkle forming muscles move. Microtox, in other words, can help you hold on longer to your youthful face.

Maintain Results the Subtle Way

Microtox can help as an upkeep strategy. You can think of it as getting small maintenance doses every 3 – 6 months rather than large sized standards doses over time. The other term for this is tweakment. You don’t need to wait for the effects of the injection to totally wear off. You can always maintain the original look by using Baby Botox every 3 – 6 months.

Motykie Medical Spa receives patients from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby areas for Microtox non-surgical treatment for facial anti-aging effects.
