Types of IV Therapy: Chelation Therapy Metal Detox

Chelation IV Therapy Clinic

Metals such as mercury, lead, arsenic, and iron can get deposited in your body in toxic quantities. Chelation IV therapy is a safe and effective treatment involving medications that will eliminate these metals from your body to prevent illness.

Types of IV Therapy: Chelation Therapy Metal Detox

Chelation therapy has been successfully used by holistic treatment providers to improve or manage the symptoms of heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and autism. It’s crucial to choose an experienced med spa treatment provider to receive this IV therapy in a safe and controlled medical environment.

Motykie Medical Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie, provides chelation therapy to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding locations.

How Does it Work?

Your provider will customize the chelation therapy using special drugs that bind to the metal residue in your blood. While these drugs are also available in pill form, you can obtain faster and more impactful results by receiving these chelating medications intravenously through an IV tube in your arm.

When the metal residue attaches with the drug, it will exit from your body in a natural manner through urine. Prior to your treatment, your provider may order a few tests to determine the quantity of metal in your blood.

Conditions Treated

The FDA has approved chelation therapy to treat the symptoms of metal poisoning. However, a number of holistic healthcare providers are successfully using chelation therapy for off-label treatments to improve the symptoms of a number of serious diseases and conditions. Research has shown positive outcomes for the following major diseases:

Autism

Some researchers are of the view that autism is carried by mercury in the vaccines received during childhood. Chelation therapy can help to remove mercury from the body to improve the symptoms of autism. However, the American Academy of Pediatrics has said that chelation is not an evidence-based treatment for autism because clinical trials are still going on.

Alzheimer’s Disease

Patients suffering from Alzheimer’s have a buildup of abnormal proteins called beta amyloid and tau in their brain, which causes damage to the brain tissue. No treatments are currently available to stop or reverse this condition.

Some researchers, however, believe that deposits of metals such as iron, zinc, and copper may have a role to play in the development of Alzheimer’s disease. Based on this research, some treatment providers are able to offer chelation med spa therapy to treat the symptoms of Alzheimer’s.

Heart Disease

Heart disease occurs when plaque forms in the arteries, which restricts the flow of blood to the heart. Artery plaque contains excess calcium, which narrows the blood vessels. With chelating drug called disodium EDTA, it is possible to bind calcium, and clear it from the blood vessels in order to restore free flow of blood through the arteries.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) conducted a large study on chelation therapy in 2002. This study called TACT found that this therapy somewhat reduced the risk of strokes, heart attacks and other heart related conditions. Motykie Medical Spa receives patients from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby areas for chelation IV therapy.
